These pages are a full listing of railway stations on Britain's national network post-privatisation, together with that station's Engineer's Line Reference, mileage, owner and post-privatisation operator. For the latter, London Underground is shown as a station operator from 1994 even though it, of course, operated them for many years before that. CRS codes can be found on these pages. The closed stations listed are those appearing in certain official publications or closed since privatisation. Names given are those used on the National Rail Enquiries system and can differ from those carried on signs. There are some anomalies, particularly for the Heathrow stations.
All stations are open and are owned by Network Rail unless stated otherwise. Station operator change dates are shown; click the appropriate entry to expand historical data. For stations opened or closed after privatisation, dates are given for first or last trains, respectively. Note that effective dates are often different to the dates given on licences, which give the dates from or until which the operator is permitted to carry out an activity. Additionally, changes to operator are also intended to show any TOC rebranding (e.g. LTS Rail becoming c2c, even though both are legally the same company).
Mick Parker has kindly supplied global positioning data, presented here in the form degrees longitude/degrees latitude. In addition, Andrew Laing has kindly supplied Ordnance Survey grid reference data. An interactive map can be found here, courtesy Chris Harry. Stations are shown graphically and can be filtered according to facility operator; hover for information.
