Northern Ireland

The UK's ORR has economic regulation oversight but does not licence undertakings, which is Department for Infrastructure responsibility.

The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland

Licence: from 22 January 2026 for 5 years full details currently unknown

Republic of Ireland

The Commission for Railway Regulation issues licences, apparently normally valid for five years.

Iarnród Éireann Railway Undertaking

Licence CRR-ECR-LA-20001: from 29 September 2015; renewed to expire 23 September 2025

Note that the regulator's register originally had the renewal expiring the day before it took effect on 24 September 2019, since corrected.

Licence CRR-ECR-LA-25001: from 24 September 2025; to expire 23 September 2030

NIR Operations Ltd (trading as Translink)

Licence CRR-ECR-LA-19001: from 15 October 2019; expired 14 October 2024

Licence CRR-ECR-LA-24001: from 15 October 2024; to expire 14 October 2029
